'Half Back'

That's what people in North Carolina jokingly call us. Let me explain. Hubby and I grew up in NH. We set out from there a couple times, but those are stories in themselves. About 2 years ago we took our first family vacation and went down to Florida for the first time. We visited my sister, her husband, and their 3 kids over on the Gulf of Mexico. We stayed there for a few days. We had a great time. LOVED the weather. And all but decided this was the place for us.

Then we headed over to Disney World! That was a long, tiring and wonderful day. It's every childs dream to go to Disney and it was so great to be able to make that dream come true for our children. We normally live paycheck to paycheck. Enough to get by with a little bit extra sometimes so this trip was a dream come true for us to pull off.

After that we headed over to the East Coast of Florida to see my father, whom I had been estranged from for years. He is/was an alcoholic and we stopped speaking for many large reasons that I'll explain in a later blog. We had just started speaking on the phone over the past 6 months or so and it was still so awkward. We ended up staying at his wife's house (yup she insists it's her house) which held her 2 teenage sons, and my brother. It went amazingly well.

After our vacation we headed back to NH with our big plans to move to Florida when the school year ended. Long story short (much more on that later also) we lasted 10 months in Florida.

We ended up moving to Charlotte, NC in March of 08 following some work leads for my hubby. We lived in the city for a while and HATED it. Then almost 6 months ago we found this lovely house in the country (but not far from restaurants and stores and only 45 mins from the big city) that we are in LOVE with. We are very happy here.

Back to my title. People, friends, and others that learn where we have moved from call us that because we started in the north. Moved to the south. And then only made it half back!

Well hello

Welcome to my new and first blogspot. I have blogged many times on myspace, but this is the first time on a website for blogging only.

I plan to use this particular blog to tell you the basic details about me and my life. Things should get more interesting in future posts.

My name is Tara and I am a married mom of two (not counting my hubby and dog). I'm 31 but still in denial about leaving my twenties. My hubby Sam of 10 yrs is 33. Our son Sammie is 8 and no he is not a junior, I refused to give him the same middle name as his daddy and did NOT allow anyone to call him junior. That has been a bit of a battle through the years but so far I have succeeded. More on that later. Okay now moving on to our daughter Antoinette aka Toni among many other nicknames that I'm sure I'll introduce to you later on. She is 7. And we have our Shelby 'dawg'. A 3 yr old boston terrier/border collie mix.

Our family has been on many adventures through the years. Part of which include quite a few large moves from state to state. I plan to share some of those adventures with you. Some are funny, some sad, some may make you want to clunk me on the head to try and knock some sense into me.

Ok this being my first post and all I hope you hung in there and read this little ramble of mine and as a result are interested in checking back often to see if I write anything worth reading. I'll be looking forward to reading responses! See ya around!
